Resident Advisor, Cornell University Residential and New Student Programs, Ithaca, NY, U.S.A. (August 2014 - December 2015)

  • ­Supervised 70 students in the Just About Music residence hall, assisting with their personal issues and mediating conflicts within the community

  • Organized events aimed at community engagement, well-being, moral awareness and multicultural competence for the building’s 144 residents

  • Enforced building and university regulations

  • Ran the monthly open mic nights at the Just About Music residence hall, a well-known attraction in the Cornell University community, during the 2014-2015 academic year

Programming Intern, Netaş, Pendik, İstanbul, Turkey (June - July 2014)

  • Designed and programmed a user interface to help the SPiDR Gateway Web/Mobile Applications department analyze the call logs for SPiDR WebRTC Gateway, a product being developed by Netaş for the American telecommunications company Genband

  • Trained in basic principles of WebRTC technologies and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Project Experience

Programmer, Game and Sound Designer, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA (Sep. 2016 – present)

  • Developed the games Ordon and Havoc for HTC Vive, Escorting 314 for Oculus Rift, Run Run Curry for Kinect and Flying High for CAVE as part of two-week projects in five-student teams using the Unity game engine

  • Programmed various features for Flying High, including the entire flight physics and audio placement

  • Designed various gameplay elements, such as the boat-prisoner theme for Escorting 314, the cart and sorcerer movement for Ordon, the power-ups for Run Run Curry, and the flight and weather mechanics for Flying High

  • Havoc was selected into the CMU ETC Fall Festival, scheduled to take place on Dec. 7, 2016

 

Software Lead, Game and Sound Designer, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY (January 2015 – May 2016)

  • Programmed various features in three games including UI interactions, level serialization and de-serialization, player and NPC movement, character AI, and object collision interactions as part of semester-long projects

  • Scheduled and divided up work for programming teams of 3-4 students in all three games

  • Designed the software architecture and various gameplay features in all three games

  • Designed and programmed the level editor for a game using Java’s Swing library

  • One of the games, Clone Combat, received more than 20,000 hits in its first week, and was featured on the homepage of the media platform Newgrounds for ten days as one of the best releases for November 2015

 

Programmer, Online Group Study Team, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY (September – December 2014)

  • Designed and programmed front-end features for an online platform aimed at facilitating collaborative studies

  • Led peer programming sessions to help other members of the team grow familiar with the various frameworks used in the project, such as the Node.js runtime environment API and the DynamoDB database API

  • 2015 Kappa Delta Rho Stephen D. Hansen Memorial Scholarship – Awarded to one or two members every year who “demonstrate honesty, integrity, and service.”

  • Dean’s List at Cornell University College of Engineering in Fall 2013 and Fall 2015 – Students qualify if they have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or above.

  • 2013 Vehbi Koç Award at the Koç School – The Koç School’s most prestigious award: “Awarded to a graduating student who shows his/her leadership using intelligence, conscience and courage and is the best example of strong local and global awareness, in line with the aims of Koç School.”
