EMRE FINDIK
NOSEDIVE
Nosedive is a two-player flight simulation game designed by a team of five Entertainment Technology students at Carnegie Mellon University in two weeks for the class Building Virtual Worlds. The game is suited for the CAVE platform and also incorporates Makey Makey which takes input from hand-built levers and buttons, designed to imitate flight control surfaces. In this game, the two players are unsuspecting passengers who are suddenly called in by a flight attendant to take command of the plane since the captain pilot has become dangerously intoxicated. As autopilot fails shortly after they take their seats and adverse weather starts settling in, they have to rely on their instruments and the wisdom of the drunk captain who is laying on the floor next to them.
I served both as a programmer and a sound designer in the creation of this game. My programming tasks included implementing the entire flight physics and the plane's alert systems, balancing the operation of different components of the plane, and managing the audio positioning and hierarchy. As sound designer, I made all the sound effects for the game.
